Thanks to your support, Bluegrass Runners will be able to donate over $37,000 to beneficiaries of the Thoroughbred Classic 5K. Because of YOU, these organizations will be better able to provide essential services to the community, and for that we want to say:

Allegro Dance Project

Our mission is to educate, entertain and inspire new audiences by sharing the art of dance through our contemporary dance company and through our outreach program, serving children with special needs. We move to move you!

CASA of Lexingon

Through the power of volunteer advocacy, CASA of Lexington works to ensure that all victims of child abuse and neglect are given a chance to thrive in a safe, permanent home.  CASA’s trained and supervised volunteers provide an independent voice for children, one child at a time, by speaking for their best interest in the family court system.

Central Kentucky Radio Eye

Radio Eye is a radio reading service, providing the reading of newspapers, magazines, and other printed material to people who are blind or print-impaired in Kentucky, and to producing quality programming designed to help those individuals lead enriched, productive, and independent lives.Volunteer readers provide listeners with equal access to dozens of newspapers, magazines, and special programming to offset the impact of sight loss or physical disability that prevents them from reading printed matter. Programs are broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to alleviate isolation and improve the quality of life for print-disabled listeners.

E7 Kids Cafe

E7 Kids Cafe is a community center and safe space for children in the East End of Lexington, KY. At E7, we strive to inspire curiosity and make reading and learning enjoyable, all while providing a free and reliable safe space where children can eat, play, and grow. Our no-barrier, cost-free Afterschool Program is open to any child between the ages of 4 and 17. All students who join us can enjoy homework help and one-on-one reading time with any one of our amazing mentors. Our Afterschool Program also includes supervised indoor AND outdoor play, with Duncan Park just across the street! Each child is given a free snack upon arrival, and served a free hot meal for dinner every evening.

FEED

Since January 2017, FEED has been working in partnership with God’s Pantry to provide weekend meals to students in need in Fayette County. FEED is currently fulfilling a portion of weekend food needs at Garden Springs Elementary, Rosa Parks Elementary, Garrett Morgan Elementary, James Lane Allen Elementary, Beaumont Middle School, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, and Lafayette High School.

We operate in partnership with local churches, Family Resource Coordinators, and volunteers to ensure that weekend food needs are fulfilled at each of our partner schools. Our long-term goal is to create a community of school personnel, parents, non-profit organizations, and advocates to ensure that no student in Fayette County goes hungry when school is not in session.

Kentucky Equal Justice Center’s Maxwell Street Legal Clinic

Kentucky Equal Justice Center (KEJC) is a non-profit poverty law advocacy and research center. Our mission is to promote equal justice for all residents of the Commonwealth by serving as an advocate for low income and other vulnerable members of society.

Maxwell Street Legal Clinic is a trusted source of low-cost legal assistance for the immigrant and refugee communities of Kentucky. We provide assistance with family-based and humanitarian immigration relief.

The Nest

The Nest—Center for Women, Children & Families provides a safe place for education, counseling, and support to children and families in crisis. We do this through our four programs: Respite Child Care, Parent Support & Education, Domestic Violence Counseling & Advocacy and Crisis Care Management for basic human needs. Our four programs work together to Give Children a Chance, Victims a Voice and Families a Future!
